Garth was born in 1972 to Gail and Fraser Jennings. 2 years later a sister called Zoe arrived and they all grew older together quite near Epping Forest, England.
Garth made up of for his lack of good grades at school by drawing pictures, writing stories and making films. Then, at around the age of 18, he was lucky enough to go to St Martin’s School of Art where he made up for his lack of interest in graphic design by drawing pictures, writing stories and making films. It was here that he met his lifelong friends (and producer and editor of just about everything he wrote and directed respectively) Nick Goldsmith and Dominic Leung. Together, they set up Hammer & Tongs, a production company that went on to produce a ludicrous amount of music videos, commercials, books, DVD’s, CD’s, T-shirts and two feature films. Garth directed his first movie, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’ with Nick producing and Dominic directing the 2nd unit. After that, Garth directed a script he wrote called ‘Son of Rambow’ with Nick producing and Dominic editing. Since then, Garth has written and illustrated ‘The Deadly 7,’ his first novel for Macmillan Children’s books, written and directed the animated movie ‘Sing’ for Illumination Entertainment and written his first picture ‘The Wildest Cowboy’ illustrated by Sara Ogilvie. He is currently working on a sequel to ‘Sing' and 'The Deadly 7.’
Garth has lived with his wife Louise (who would hate it if he told you how fantastic he thinks she is) since 1996. They have 4 crazy sons and they all live together in France where Garth makes up for his lack of maturity by drawing pictures, writing stories and making films.
